Facilitating new ways of working with a fresh approach
The challenge
Following the relocation of approximately 2000 staff from some 30 offices across the borough, Southwark Council was looking to transform the interior of it new administration centre at 160 Tooley Street. Design and Build contractor, ISG, appointed TTSP as their Architect.
Our approach
The Council’s new home was a recently completed, award-winning, speculative office development at 160 Tooley Street - carefully connected to retained and refurbished buildings on the street. It was an exciting canvas for TTSP to work with. Using our trademark creative approach, we worked collaboratively to modernise the offices. The refreshed space facilitates a new way of working with flexible, space-efficient working environments that incorporate desk sharing, hot desks, meeting rooms, breakout spaces, vending and support services.
The result
Following the brief, we have transformed 18,500m² of interior space into a welcoming and cohesive service centre that facilitates a whole new way of working for Southwark Council.
