Building the new UK flagship data centre
The challenge
Appointed by Crown House Technologies (CHT) on behalf of Equinix, our challenge was to design and construct the new UK flagship data centre, LD6: a detailed, technical build with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency.
The approach
With many design and technical challenges to address, TTSP worked closely with Equinix and CHT across the project – from the interior architecture to the external envelope. Building on Stage E and Stage C drawings from the concept stage, we delivered designs and technical support, as well as a complete design and consultancy service for the striking front-of-house facility.
The result
This state-of-the-art facility, with two, four-storey wings, a linked office centre and logistics buildings sets the standard for all future data centres. Its innovative cooling system has achieved a LEED Gold Standard, while sustainable environmental control in the office uses night-time cooling, displacement ventilation and chilled beams.
