A state-of-the-art scalable, low-CO² data centre
The challenge
We were appointed by AmberCore to provide a scalable data centre facility, covering 15,000m2. The centre’s Lithuanian location was strategic, based on geography cost efficiency, network infrastructure, high security and a climate best suited to energy efficiency.
The approach
Experienced in the planning and construction of data centres, our team worked closely with services, structural consultants and local specialists in a BIM environment, whilst ensuring all plan/height and local codes were met. Working collaboratively, we ensured that the client had full visibility at all stages of the project through a series of bespoke presentations.
The facility has a total of four 1,000m2 halls of technical space and associated support space in the form of a co-joined delivery and office block. The first phase consisted of the
office/delivery facility and 2 halls of technical space over two storeys.
With a focus on energy conservation, we designed the facility on an all-air indirect cooling solution, with both electrical and mechanical infrastructures designed to UTI Tier III level.
The results
The data centre is the largest Tier III gold certified data centre in the Baltics. It has an ultra-low water consumption, and a notably low CO² footprint.
