Salford Data Centre Planning Approval

We are delighted that our proposals for a new £250m data centre in Eccles, Salford has been given the green light by the City Council.

Working with Keysource and Digital Land & Development  the scheme is located on the previously developed 6.3-acre site of the former Whites Reclamation Yard.

The data centre will provide 5,000 m2 of technical floorspace for digital infrastructure with supporting plant and 1,000 m2 of ancillary office space. The design extends and reinforces existing planting and landscaping to create new habitats for wildlife across the site, improving local biodiversity.

The data centre development will ensure it is fit for a low carbon future with the use of sustainable materials and application of energy efficient and circular design principles. Reduced water consumption and sustainable drainage as well as the potential to include heat reclaim and export for future district heating have all been designed into the approved scheme.

Prioritising sustainable and active means of travel have also been realised with the provision of secure sheltered cycle parking spaces exceeding local authority standards.

TTSP Director Ian Miller said “We are delighted that our designs for the data centre have been approved. It is great to work with a client who has the vision to regenerate the area delivering innovative growth and much needed digital infrastructure to the region.”
